How To Record Your Podcast Outside
IT’S SUMMER
And in the UK that can only mean two days of ridiculously hot weather where even your eyeballs are sweating followed by thunderstorms for days on end.
But in all seriousness better weather also brings more opportunities for you to record your podcast outside.
Why would you want to do that though?
- Personally after what feels like a millennium of being cooped up thanks to lockdown I want to get outside of the normal four walls so I’m using all the opportunities I can to do so.
- Being on location - if you’re talking about a certain place or a certain area can actually add to your podcast. You get the atmosphere of the place through the noises going on around you
- You might want to talk to people “on the street” and do a vox pop. It’s hard to do that in your office.
You don't have to go far to record your podcast outside but you do need to consider a few things such as how you're going to record it, the safety of your location and the extra noises you'll encounter.
Charlotte talks through the steps you should take to get the best out of recording outside.
